Fair Use Policy

Understanding acceptable use of Taggian's container hosting platform.

    Effective Date: 20-07-2025

    1. Purpose

This Fair Use Policy ("FUP") explains the acceptable use of Taggian's container hosting platform. The goal is to ensure stable, high-performing services for all Clients while protecting the infrastructure from abuse or excessive consumption.

This policy is part of Taggian's Terms of Service. By using our platform, you agree to this FUP.

    2. Overview

Taggian operates on a pay-as-you-go model with a Flat Daily Rate per Container, rather than charging based on usage volume (e.g. request count or bandwidth). This allows for predictable and transparent billing. However, to prevent abuse, we enforce a Fair Use Policy (FUP).

    3. What Is Fair Use?

    Fair use means:

    • Hosting a reasonable number of containers within the account limits defined in your plan,
    • Sending a normal amount of server-side traffic per container based on typical usage for analytics, conversion tracking, and tag execution,
    • Avoiding patterns that significantly burden the infrastructure, degrade performance, or indicate automated abuse.

    4. Examples of Excessive or Unfair Use

The following activities may violate our Fair Use Policy:

    • Hosting an unusually high number of containers without approval,
    • Sending millions of requests per container per day,
    • Using Taggian as a generic server, proxy, or data ingestion pipeline,
    • Looping requests through containers continuously (e.g. infinite tracking loops),
    • Bursting traffic at extreme volumes in short intervals without throttling,
    • Replacing traditional cloud platforms or CDNs with Taggian containers for raw data processing,
    • Any use that negatively affects other customers' performance or system availability.

    5. Limits and Thresholds

Default container limit: Each account has a soft limit on the number of containers it can host.

Need more? Contact support@taggian.io to request an upgrade.

Request volume: While not strictly metered, we monitor for abnormal traffic patterns.

Log storage: Logs are retained for up to 3 days and should not be used for long-term storage or audit purposes.

    6. Monitoring and Enforcement

We continuously monitor usage to ensure fairness. If your usage is determined to exceed fair use, we may:

    • Contact you to discuss upgrading your plan, or optimizing container behavior,
    • Throttle excessive traffic to preserve platform stability,
    • Temporarily suspend specific containers or accounts (with notice, unless urgent),
    • In extreme cases, terminate service as outlined in our Terms of Service.

    7. Exceptions

We understand some clients may have higher-than-average needs due to legitimate business reasons. We're happy to discuss custom limits or dedicated resources.

    Email support@taggian.io for assistance.

    8. Updates

We may revise this Fair Use Policy over time to reflect platform growth and technical changes. The latest version is always available at https://taggian.io/fair-use. Continued use of the Services indicates your agreement to the current policy.
